Taxi fares — how to estimate

An orientation guide, not an official tariff board. Rates differ by company — ask for a route estimate when you book.

What makes up the fare

  • Flag fall — the meter’s starting charge.
  • Per kilometre — usually higher at night and on holidays (tariff 2).
  • Waiting time — when the car is stuck in traffic or waiting on request.
  • Extras — sometimes large luggage or longer trips outside the city (ask).

Typical visitor routes

Around Jasna Gora the most common trips are short hops between the centre/hotel and the sanctuary, or station ↔ Jasna Gora. On a short distance, flag fall plus a few kilometres matters more than any “city-wide flat rate”.

Daytime

Standard tariff

Short city rides in daylight — ask for an estimate when you call or book in-app.

Night / feasts

Higher tariff

After the Appeal and on feast days demand rises. Call a company number rather than street-hailing in a crowd.

Payment

Card or cash

When booking, ask for a car with a card terminal if you are not carrying cash.

Nights and feast days

After about 21:00 and during August solemnities, demand is higher. Save a company number before you leave the Walls.

We do not republish other firms’ tariff tables as “official”. Confirm current rates with the company — see the homepage shortlist.
